5 Taco Joints in Nashville To Try This Summer

For those of you visiting Music City, skip scrolling through reviews and trust us on this one—these are the 5 best Nashville taco joints.

If you can, make it to all of them. Not only will you eat some of the best tacos of your life, but each of these locales has a unique vibe, perfect for laid-back summer dining.

1. Mas Tacos Por Favor

A Nashville favorite time and time again, Mas Tacos is a cash-only taco joint hole-in-the-wall. Dubbed a “snug, no-frills” Mexican restaurant, Mas Tacos is worth the wait if you can find a spot indoors. Step into another world and nosh on hand-rolled tamales, Mexican street corn on the cob, pozole, and of course tacos.

Located in East Nashville, Mas Tacos is open Monday-Saturday 11am-9pm. Checkout their Facebook page for drool-worthy photos and more information on specials and new menu items.

2. Redheaded Stranger

Also in East Nashville, and a new favorite, Redheaded Stranger is for anyone who loves brisket, hatch green chiles, and southwestern inspired food. While their menu boasts a long list of creative tacos, a menu favorite is the Green Chile Cheeseburger. The tacos feature ingredients from tater tots and barbacoa to whipped feta and Dr. Pepper hot sauce. Rather than nachos, this Tex-Mex spot makes a mean plate of “Totchos.”

Open Monday-Thursday from 10am-10pm and Friday-Sunday 8am-10pm. Visit Redheaded Stranger’s website to learn more and view the full menu.

3. Otto’s

West Nashville’s newest bar may be known for its cocktails, but don’t underestimate the words “small bites.” Otto’s small bite menu is home to Nashville’s best-kept secret—darn good tacos! With housemade salsas and crema, and a refreshingly crunchy hard shell taco, Otto’s covers the bases when it comes to classic street tacos and offers vegan chorizo and cheese for the plant-based.

The old automotive shop turned bar has a lively patio, perfect for Taco Tuesday ($2 tacos and $6 margaritas) and Wine Wednesday ($5 house wines). Open Tuesday through Thursday 4pm-12am, and Friday through Sunday 4pm-2am. Check it out for yourself and visit their website!

4. Ladybird Taco

Who said tacos are just for dinner? Located just outside of 12th South, this fast casual restaurant is normalizing tacos for breakfast. Austin-inspired, Ladybird serves homemade tortillas, queso and salsa with full barista service. Tacos are adorned with tenderbelly bacon, potatoes, chorizo, scrambled eggs and more.

Open for breakfast and lunch seven days a week, 7am-3pm. Visit Ladybird’s website to order online and view the full menu.

5. Taqueria del Sol

With locations in both 12th South and West Nashville, Taqueria del Sol wasted no time becoming a local favorite. The pristine blue and white patios are enough to draw the crowds in, but their menu is a perfect fusion of Southern and Mexican tradition. The famous Memphis taco tops smoked pork with spicy jalapeño coleslaw and tequila BBQ sauce. In addition to tacos, Taqueria serves enchiladas and the best salsa trio in town.

Open at varying hours Tuesday through Sunday, schedule a time to gather with friends over a pitcher of delicious margs. Visit their website to learn more.
